Sid Haig


Sid Haig’s outstanding acting career in both film and television has spanned some 40 years during which he has appeared in over 50 films and 350 television series.

Sid’s early film roles include appearing in SPIDER BABY OR, THE MADDEST STORY EVER TOLD (1967), COFFY (1973) and FOXY BROWN (1974). Sid’s other memorable credits include George Lucas’ THX 1138 (1971) and DIAMONDS ARE FOREVER (1971).

Among his most significant television credits are appearances on such landmark programs as BATMAN (1966), STAR TREK (1966), HERE’S LUCY (1968), THE SIX MILLION DOLLAR MAN (1974), CHARLIE’S ANGELS (1976), THE DUKES OF HAZZARD (1979) and TJ HOOKER (1982).

In 1997, Sid appeared as “The Judge” in JACKIE BROWN, a role written especially for him by Quentin Tarantino.  In 2000, Sid starred as the fun-loving, but murderous, Captain Spaulding in Rob Zombie’s debut film HOUSE OF 1000 CORPSES (2003). Sid was awarded BEST SUPPORTING ACTOR in the 13th Annual FANGORIA CHAINSAW AWARDS and was also inducted in the HORROR HALL OF FAME. Sid’s character of Captain Spaulding has since become the icon for the horror genre.  In 2004, Sid appeared in Quentin Tarantino’s martial arts film KILL BILL: Vol 2.

Sid again starred as Captain Spaulding in Rob Zombie’s follow-up THE DEVIL’S REJECTS (2005). For this film, Sid received the award for BEST ACTOR in the 15th Annual FANGORIA CHAINSAW AWARDS, as well as sharing the award for “Most Vile Villain” at the First Annual SPIKE TV SCREAM AWARDS.
